Isis Ceramics dinner plate by Deborah Sears. From the Isis Ceramics workshop, made in the early days of the pottery when it was first established in the Old Toffee Factory in Oxford. The original partnership was between Deborah Sears and Lindsey Hoole. Signed with monograms DS and LH and dated 2/3/86 . Hand thrown by Lindsey Hoole and hand painted by Deborah Sears. One of six, all different, with hand painted lake scenes, each with one or two boats. There are some imperfections, which occurred during manufacture, and some later crazing to the glaze. The other five plates have also been listed today. A rare item from the first days of Isis Ceramics. Part of a dinner service with eight place settings, made to commission in 1986. These are the last pieces available from this service. Dimensions 26.3 cm., 10.4 in. diameter approx. No chips, cracks or restoration. Weight 700gm. Please note that the weight of this plate makes postage expensive. Overseas rates are quoted for the US but European rates are less. As these are not antique items (although they are second hand), import duty or tax may be payable on them, which is the responsibility of the buyer. Cheques or cash by prior arrangement. Postage may be combined for multiple purchases. Postage quoted is for second class where possible. We also post by first class recorded delivery
