This piece of North Carolina southern art pottery from J B Cole Pottery, Seagrove, NC, is a nicely turned pinch bottle in robin's egg blue or turquoise glaze. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. The glaze is glossy and t are a some reflections in the photos. Any white or shiny places are reflections and are not a part of the glaze. It is 10 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches wide at its widest point. It is unmarked, made of Mitchfield clay, and listed as form W-117 in the JB Cole 1940 Catalogue. The W indicated it is a form that was typically made by Waymon Cole (1905-1987) It weighs four to five pounds carefully packed for secure shipment by Priority Mail. Insurance is required.
