Bid is for Japanese sword as shown in the photos. I believe this to be an older sword based on the tsuba and the re-drilling of the tang. The blade is unsigned, it is in very good shape without edge knicks or cracks. The temper line is relatively flat and lightly visible. The total length of the blade is 28-9/16". The sheath is leather over wood and in very good shape (some scuffing). The tsuba is unsigned and in very good condition. The problem area is the Habaki (ferrule). It is split up one side and a previous owner chose to solder it to one of the Seppa (spacers). I have separated the two pieces and disassembled the sword as shown in the photos. The sword is now in need of someone more talented than myself to restore the Habaki, restore or replace the Seppa and reassemble the sword.I try to give honest and accurate descriptions of the items I sell. However, I am not an expert so please look at the photos carefully to be sure you know what you are bidding on.
