Please Note: WE SHIP WORLDWIDE ! Rare wooden Sake Drinker Kobe Toy from around 1900, characterized by the numerous white bone pegs inserts, very finely detailed carving and the extensive use of the much denser boxwood, vs. some of the more grainier wood used in later years. Turning the knob back and forth on the side creates the action by means of various string linkages concealed inside. The slight opening and closing of his mouth works, but only some of the time. The rest of the action is good: he pours the sake, then lifts the bowl as he leans forward to drink. All parts are original. One minor repair has been done to the neck joint, and one to the internal part of the handle - these do not affect the working or the appearance of the toy. The fine finish to the wood is well preserved. The toy base measures 3.2 x 2.4 inches and the hight is 4.5 inches when the head is in its highest position. Paypal is accepted.
