This is a very Rare early Ludwig & Ludwig 6.5 x 14 nickel over a 1 piece heavy brass shell snare drum. I believe this is from the first year of production of snare drums for the company or around 1912. It is all original will no modifications other than the heads. 6 tube lugs with no cracks and they currently hold a fair amount of tension. The single screw drop strainer works fine, but like many from that era if you smash it the strainer is going to throw off. A couple of dings (worst one in the photo) and the nickel peeled in spots off the steel hoops, but hey its 100 years old! No clips, ears are directly mounted on the hoops. Cool old head on the bottom-Says Amrawco Plasti tone its rain proof (one of the first plastic heads and from a calf company!) Own of the rarest pieces of Ludwig's history! Even with old heads this drum sounds amazing-with the right set up could be used in any studio! Low Reserve!
