RARE EARLY CRANBERRY MURANO ART GLASS FIGURAL OPEN SALT Presented for auction is this early made Murano Art Glass Figural Open Salt. Measures 6 1/2" long by 3" high by 2" wide. A Cranberry ribbed glass body is shown with white glass fins and mouth with 24 K gold Mica Flakes. Glass eyes are also shown. This looks to be the work of Salviatti but not for sure. It came from an estate with one of the largest Open Salt Collections I have ever seen. This is one of the pieces. I will be listing the other Open Salts this week so please be sure and checkout my site. This is the early glass as the clear glass glows green under my blacklight. Condition: VERY FINE condition with NO flaws to report. I have had two different eBayers contact me and report that this piece is a Business Card Holder. However, I have tried placing my business card on this piece and it does not rest straight, it falls to one side. It may have been used for this purpose by others, but since I did acquired this piece from an estate with over 1000 different Open Salts and it was sold as an Open Salt, and due to the large cavity in it's mouth, I believe it was intended for this purpose.
