Artist - Wilson Williams, Nootka, Vancouver Island, B.C. Title - Totem Pole (Thunderbird, Raven, Bear?) Year - Circa 1950-70 Format - Cedar Carving Description - Offered for auction an Original Cedar Carving by the Important North American (Nuu-Chah-Nulth) Artist Wilson Williams of Nitinat, British Columbia . The artist was the senior member of the famous Williams family of carvers, who are members of the Eagle Clan of the Nootka . The carving depicts a (Thunderbird, Raven and Bear?) and is carved from western red cedar. The carving measures 10 1/2'' high by 2 1/4'' by 1 3/4'', and the base measures 3'' by 2''. The carving is signed verso ''Wilson Williams''. The carving is in very good condition with possible chips to both wing tips and onr ear. The carving would enhance any Northwest Coast art collection.
