Early Paris Etching Society Print, SZL, "La Gauche" This etching done by the Paris Etching Society is in its original matte and art deco frame. The print is titled, "La Gauche" in the bottom left corner and there are the initials SZL within a circle for Sidney Z. Lucas who was the founder of the Paris Etching Society located in New York in the 1920's. This Societ commissioned etchings by contemporary French artists which were then published through the Paris Etching Society. The artist also signed the etching in pencil at the bottom right corner of the etching and it looks like the name is "Beyer" or something similar. The etching in its frame measures 14 1/2" by 12 3/4". The etching itself is 6 1/4" by 8" within the frame and matte. The Paris Etching Society "La Gauche" is in excellent condition with good strong coloring that hasn't been overexposed to light. The frame is also in quite good shape with only a couple of places that are rubbed. The dustcover on the back has tears and the hanging wire is actually 2 nails and a cotton string (see photo of the back). I accept only Paypal for payment .
