PHOTOGRAPH This is an early photograph of the Employees-Sewer Pipe Factory-Lehigh,Iowa taken by M. C. Peterson, Ft. Dodge, Iowa. The sepia tone photograph is taken outside the factory with a brick wall as background. All individuals in the photo are men/boys, all wear hats of various styles and shapes, several wear sweaters or jackets, several have full aprons in various styles, the man on the ground-first row-far right- has a black dog in his lap, two men on the ground leaning on their elbows have work gloves on with shovels in front of them, several men are smoking pipes or cigarettes, a man on the second row holds a tall nozzled oil can while the man beside him holds up a curved piece of sewer pipe. Two of the men on row three hold something long in their hand which comes well above waist level. Perhaps many of the items the men hold are directly related to the task they performed in the factory. Unfortunately, the only identification of the picture is at the bottom done by the photographer. T is no other identification on the piece. The back is blank with no writing or printing. The measurements given include the board on which the photograph has been place. The board shows dirt/smudges, water/moisture mark, has a few dings on the edges and the left bottom corner has broken off and become rounded. T are water/moisture spots on the back. The photograph itself has no damage. The camera flash has reflected on the brick wall of the photograph - t is no white spot. Sorry. We package your items with great care.
