This wonderful early primitive Hopi Kachina doll stands 7 1/2" high and 2 1/4" wide. It is handcarved from a cottonwood root and handpainted in white, tan, brown and black. The paint is worn off in areas and adds to it's primitive charm. Great old wear on head. Hole w something protruding may have been in middle of face. I am showing detailed pics at every angle and will let those describe further. Interesting details on back and around shoulders. Used in Hopi ceremonies. A wonderful early example. Circa 1900's or earlier.
