~ EARLY PRIMITIVE PA FOLK ART~PAINTING of MOTHER, GIRL & BABY ~ ~ N O R E S E R V E ~ This fabulous OLD primitive folk art painting comes to you from a private collection out of Pennsylvania (discovered in an old barn I was told), and it is one of the most endearing works of art I have ever had offered, even though it is not "perfect"! I was also informed by the seller that it was painted in the early 1900's. It is signed in white paint, O'ROY in the lower left corner, and entitled "HAPPY HEARTS" in the lower right corner which fits the setting perfectly. I believe this to be Amish in nature, and a scene that depicts a mother, daughter and baby in a cradle ~ all dressed in Amish garb! Mother is preparing green beans, and older sister is admiring or tending to her sibling... The surroundings are dark and simple with a white sheer curtain in a window, the crib appears to be wicker, and a chair for the mother. The lower bottom corner of a painting hung high and painted in the upper right corner. The floor is laid brick... T are a few scrapes, chips and wear that does show but I believe it adds to the character & early appeal of this sweet piece. It is in the original frame which also has some wonderful wear with its worn black paint chippy & peely... for the perfect surround to show off the painting so simply! This OIL painting is done on a canvas artist's board which measures 16" x 20" and with the frame is 18 ½" x 22 ½". ~ For your convenience, insurance is included in shipping price ~ Thanks for visiting my auction...
