We have over the past few years cleaned out a number of estates. With wonderful finds of old, antique, vintage and collectible items found in the attic, basement, garage and throughout the homes. I will be placing some of these items, that I have accumulated, on ebay. So check out my ebay site for items of interest. Offering this Early, Old, 1800's Primitive Wood Box. Not sure of its original use, maybe as a storage box or travel box. It has the original old red paint, hand forged strap hinges and forged handles on both sides and wonderful fat dovetailing at the corners. I found an old key that does turn the locking mechanism. But, when I locked the box, I had a lot of trouble unlocking it. Key will come with the box, but just be careful locking it. Inside is a small shelf and underneath it a drawer with a brass knob. It measures approx. 19" wide x 13" deep x 11" tall. Condition is good. Normal wear from use and age. Dings, scuffs. missing or cracked trim pieces. It has been well used over the years. Nice rich aged patina to the wood and painted surface. What a fantastic, primitive, antique piece to grace your collection. Please do not pay for this item until I can get you a good cost for shipping. Ebay has been causing some errors with the shipping costs. I will combine items won to save on shipping costs.
