A very cool and early Rhead pottery Santa Barbara three handled pot in a mottled leopard skin crazed green glaze. It is marked with the original name of the pottery Camaratara in small stamped letters on the bottom and what appears to be the potter at the wheel stamp on the inside bottom of the vase under the thick glaze. I included a clean shot of the mark on another vase that is not glazed over for comparison. The original name of the pottery was the Pottery at the Camaratara, but was quickly changed to Rhead pottery Sanata Barbara after it was incorporated. The vase is a familiar form to Rhead pottery, the squat triple handled vase with deep shoulder. It appears to be hand thrown. The glaze is a crazed leopard skin matte green but t is an area of a darker green that looks like a glaze drip from another pot landed on it during firing. T are no cracks or chips to the pot but two of the handles separated from the body of the vase w they meet at the bottom and t are a few areas near the foot of the vase that the glaze is very thin. I do not know if the crazing was intentional or if the pot saw a little too much heat which is common for some of these pieces but it does not look like the glaze was burned. It is 7 inches in diameter and just over 4 inches tall.Feel free to call me if you have any queationsJim
