Early Roseville Cow Pitcher (before 1916) RARE

You are looking at a beautiful example of the early Roseville utility pitchers. This Roseville Cow Pitcher measures 6.5" tall and approximately 6" diameter (not including the handle). Among the early Roseville pitchers, the cow is somewhat rare, especially in good condition since they were extensively used. This pitcher has excellent color and clarity of the mold, its features showing high relief. It does have some spout damage, some repair (see photos) near the spout and has the extensive crazing usually seen in these pitchers. Nevertheless, this pitcher is in much better condition than the majority of early Roseville utility pitchers simply due to the fact they were used so much in homes. It is colorfully, though casually, hand painted and features a brown cow standing in tall grass and sheltered under a canopy of thick leaves. The background is against a creamy oatmeal with a light green trim darkening at the top and bottom. These pitchers are snatched up for their charm and are a lovely decorator piece. It should be noted the cow pitcher was made in 2 sizes, a 6.5" and a 7.5", This particular 6.5" size is the more rare of the two cow pitchers. This is an excellent opportunity to add this Roseville piece to your collection, since no reserve has been set on the piece. Please examine the photos carefully and if you have any questions, email me BEFORE bidding. Don't forget...these are UILITY pitchers, Not art pottery! They have usage flaws in their condition as well as innt flaws present since manufacture. This adds to their charm for many of us, but certainly not all. I have a number of Roseville and Weller pieces presently on ebay and shipping charges can be reduced for multiple purchases. Thanks for looking.
