Early Sampler 17x5 Francinka Forman Monmouth NJ 1700's?

This is an unusually proportioned 17 by 4 3/4 inch American sampler. This shape is usually only found in 18th century samplers. In addition to the alphabets and numbers it reads: "Fancinka Forman. Age 8 Years." The linen cloth's original woven edge is present on all four sides, although the right and left sides have had a small hem put in. The sampler is in good condition with a strong linen fabric but with several holes and frayed areas. Almost all of the damage is shown in the 2nd & 4th photos- the same damage from both sides- very little of the embroidery is affected. The other damage is a few tiny holes and pulls in the empty band above the blue alphabet- it looks almost as if some embroidery was pulled out by the girl. As you can see in the photo of the back, the original colors have not faded- this one was never framed. The colors are dark rose, green, muted green, dark and light yellow, indigo blue, light blue and black. As far as I can tell, "Fancinka" has never been used as a name- I think that a letter was left out and it should read "Francinka" which is an uncommon name of Dutch origin that was found in only a few areas near New York. The only place where I found it paired with Forman was in the interrelated Forman and Hendrikson families of Monmouth County New Jersey, although my limited search did not find a girl born read more
