Antique History Finest English Silver & Collectable Antiquities Circ. 1200s – 18 th 19 th 20 th Century Preserving the past for the future. Item: Fine Early Scottish Victorian Sterling Silver Whisky/Toddy Ladle Queen Pattern by John Muir Jr Glasgow. This Antique Whisky/Toddy Ladle was produced during the early reign of Queen Victoria 1842 . The handle has a beautiful Queen’s pattern finishing that runs the entire length and has a wonderful arch finishing. Beautiful round bowl that has some gold gilt finish. Hallmarks to the reverse which are struck and defined very well, please see photos. It has initialled to the front obviously commissioned by a wealthy Victorian family of the time. Such items would have been used to pour a measure of whisky into the ones glass. The finishing is of a high quality and the photos really do not do this fine example justice.
