This is a great old advertising tin that originally housed lighter fluid - the SHUR-FYRE brand. It is a 3-fluid ounce size and is completely intact and original including its threaded top and lid. The face of the can reads: CONTENTS 3 FLUID OUNCES ... The Proper Fuel for All Pocket Lighters ... (graphic of a man) ... SHUR-FYRE ... POCKET LIGHTER FLUID ... DISTRIBUTED BY PEOPLES DRUG STORES ... WASHINGTON D.C.

The reverse side of the tin is a narrative and it reads: SHUR-FYRE POCKET LIGHTER FLUID ... The regular use of this splended fluid will eliminate troubles with all brands of pocket lighters resulting from the use of interior fuel. SHUR FYRE POCKET LIGHTER FLUID burns readily and will improve the performance of your lighter materially. (Then t is a caution sign reading) CAUTION DO NOT USE NEAR FLAME INFLAMMABLE! ... To easily hit the container of your lighter First, unscrew the cap at the bottom - next, insert the nozzle of the can of SHUR FYRE Pocket Lighter Fluid - then press the bottom of the can gently. A simple operation quickly executed. No fuss or bother and does not soil the hands ... FOR BEST RESULTS AVOID FLOODING YOUR CONTAINER.

The can measures just under 3 1/2 inches tall not including the nozzle and the nozzle itself is about one inch tall. It is free of rust or damage of any kind. The back of the can is slightly indented w it has been "squeezed" - hardly noticeable but present. T is also a small dimple in the frontal graphic of the man - just below his left hand. T are some litle scratches and t but honestly nothing to even mention. All-in-all this can is in excellent shape. Please note that the camera flash made this can look bright and shiny - in reality it is dull and patinaed with age. It looks "ancient".
