Up for your consideration is a very early and very interesting self portrait done by the American Artist, Leonard Baskin. It is either a wood curt or wood engraving and has been double signed in pencil by Baskin (see images). It is signed in pencil just under the image, and again in pencil under the text. This is an early original print made on fairly thin, yet very strong paper. I believe this early self portrait is one of a few, if not the only self portrait Baskin made. I was told this tiny and very early image is quite rare. It is a very intimate and slightly haunting look into the artist as a young man. The full (small) sheet measures 4.75" wide x 6.5" high. It is loosely attached to an acid free backing using plastic corners. This original print can be easily removed for re-matting and framing without fear of damage. As you can see by the images above the text below the print was produced at Ghanna Press. For an interesting window into the importance of this Google Ghanna Press, Northampton, Mass for more info.. I'm starting this woodcut at a very low start price. This little woodcut/self portrait is being offered without reserve. I only take Paypal for purchases, and I only ship within the USA.
