This impressive 27 1/2 inch tall Sitzendorf early antique porcelain seven light candleabra has three detailed cherub putti figurines around the base and delicate colorful porcelain flowers decorating the stem and arms. This piece has a central candle holder and six movable - removable arms, each also for holding a candle. The three cherub figures celebrate the harvest, offering flowers, wheat and grapes respectively. The beautiful white molded , footed porcelain basic structure of the piece is wonderful in itself beneath the delightful decorative adornments. The figurines are all hand painted and the flowers themselves are simply stunning. I've included a number of photographs with this listing but a mere 12 photo's just can't do this marvelous candleabra justice. This fabulous, large piece stands 27 1/2" tall and the sides of the triangular base are each 9" long. With the candleabra arms in place and open, it measures 19" inches across it's diameter at the widest spot. The six movable arms can be swung forward so the light is concentrated towards the front and so the back is flat for placement alonside a wall. The arms remove from their brass fittings as shown which will allow me to pack these delicate porcelain floral decorated pieces safely for shipping. I am selling this piece as is and have tried to show all the issues... one figure has a broken arm; the top candle holder has significant chipping and two of the wax catchers are chipped. A few of the flowers may have small chips however the overall extremely good condition of these gorgeous decorative flowers along with the fabulous hand painted cherub figurines are the highlights of this amazing example of fine early German porcelain. This candleabra makes a delightful antique porcelain display as is with all it's "character" but it is also a great candidate for full professional restoration, perhaps as simple as a repair to the arm and obtaining some salvaged pieces from other old Sitzendorf candleabra's to replace the top candle holder and the chipped wax holders. Such a restoration might increase the value of an old, oversized porcelain piece such as this tenfold. This marvelous large antique Sitzendorf candleaba was originally purchased by me at an old Charleston family estate sale down on South battery in downtown Charlston, SC. It is a gorgeous example of early fine German porcelain and a real find.
