This spice box is an item from an estate I am helping to liquidate for a friend. It was made by his grandfather. This charming little spice cabinet exhibits recycling in the purest form out of necessity by using whatever he had on hand. It is made of mixed woods. All of the drawers except the long one on the bottom appear to be made from oak. The long drawer is made of walnut or cherry. The back looks like poplar and it does have a large split all the way down. The drawers are not dovetailed, but put together with little nails. Someone later put tiny nails in the drawers to reinforce them. The older nails appear to be hand made. I estimate it to be made sometime during the first decade of the 20th century. The cabinet is 20 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches deep. Buyer pays $14.00 shipping and insurance in the USA. Buyers not in USA email me for estimate. Payment from buyers not in USA use Paypal only. Payment within 7 days please.
