Rare and early Stephen Green, Lambeth glazed stoneware anchovy or mustard pot. Impressed stamp to front reads Stephen Green's 'Glass Lined Inside', Lambeth. Would date pre-1850. This example is from my own collection and I am only selling due to lack of storage/display space. Condition: Apart from a small glaze loss area to the rim (photo 3) and a tiny chip to the glaze surface near the base edge the pot is in good condition. PLEASE NOTE: Subsequent to an enquiry I am adding the following details :- 'There are two slight indentations to the rim but these are inmanufacture, ie, have occurred PRE-firing as the glaze is clearly over them and therefore definitely not later damage as such. For point of accuracy there is a very small 3mm blow hole in the glaze to the reverse of the body but again this would have occurred in the kiln firing rather than subsequently.' Any questions please ask. I will always try and describe any listing of bottles and associated material as accurately as possible but please be aware that most will show signs of ware commesurate with burial as they will have been excavated from old dumping sites. The aim is to have all items posted within three days of receiving payment. This pot is heavy for it's size but rest assured any excess inadvertently charged to buyers will be refunded immediately after dispatch read more
