Offering for auction a Super Van Briggle Pottery Arts & Crafts Bowl Dated 1914. The bowl is design Number 858. Designed by Anne Gregory Van Briggle in 1911, this one was made and dated 1914. The bowl has a great Rust color glaze with the clay color showing through and super stylized leaves with 5 raised balls going around the top edge, makes this bowl the best example of the Arts & Crafts Era Van Briggle Pottery I have owned! If you are looking for Arts & Crafts, look no further! I have seen this design in blue and even green, this rust color changes the look and moves this piece to the front row! You will love this piece of pottery! It is marked on the bottom with the Van Briggle AA logo and the date "1914". It also has in a green color what appears to be in the glaze, the letter "T". The bowl is approximately 3-3/4" tall by 6-1/2" wide at it's widest point. The bowl is in very good condition! No cracks! No chips! No repairs! T is a factory flaw on the inside bottom towards the sides, it is a clay split done in the firing. Guaranteed in the making, solid with absolutly no chance of traveling.
