Offering for auction a Van Briggle Pottery Bowl from the 1907 to 1912 Era The vase is Design number 179. Small Dark Green Vase with mistletoe and berries decoration! It is marked on the bottom with the AA Van Briggle logo and "Van Briggle Colo. Srgs. and 179" right below the Colo. Spgs. It has a finisher marks or code on both sides of the logo, The left side looks like the number 4 the right is the number 11. The vase is listed in the Van Briggle Pottery The Early Years by Robert Wyman Newton designed by Artus Van Briggle in 1903. This example is from the 1907-1912 era. The vase is approximately 2-1/2" tall by 2-5/8" wide at it's widest point. It is in very good condition! No cracks! No chips! No repairs! But it does have some factory flaws. It has some rough glaze area along the bottom edge and the inside bottom has what I think are glaze pop holes. Great looking piece of pottery, but my guess that these flaws would have made this piece a second quality piece? Nice piece of early Van Briggle Pottery to add to your collection!
