Offered is this exceptional gold bracelet from the early Victorian period. It is a mourning bracelet with braided hair of a loved one in the clasp, surrounded by pearls. Pearls represented tears in these mourning pieces. The shoulders of the bracelet that connect to the mourning clasp also bear four 4 small pearls. The gold is 14 kt. and the bracelet weighs 16 grams. It is 6-1/2" long and the bracelet is 1/4" wide. The mourning clasp is 3/8" by 1/2" and is in great, original condition. It is monogrammed on the back "HM". The bracelet is all original and in wonderful condition. This is a rare, exceptional mourning piece.
