SORRY, I HAD TO END THE ORIGINAL LISTING AND RELIST AS THERE WAS AN ERROR IN THE PAYMENT BY PAYPAL DETAILS SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT EARLY VICTORIAN MILITARY CHAMBERSTICK This is a knockout piece of silver! You can feel the quality of this chamberstick when you hold it. It is a thick guage, oozes quality and is very heavy. All three pieces are fully hallmarked and all three bear a crown and regiment number 10, although I'm afraid I don't know which exact regiment this refers to. The tray also has a unicorn and a boars head engraved beneath the crown. I don't know if this helps identify the regiment, but if any enthusiast out there knows I would be happy to hear from you. The stick probably belonged to a senior officer judging by the quality of it. I can't imagine anyone else of the time being able to afford such a piece. The condition is superb, the only damage I can see is a small ding in the tray, but it certainly doesn't detract from what this item is. Hallmarks are nice and clear on all three pieces and read the same, makers mark JCE, lion passant, leopards head for London assay, date letter k for 1845 and the desireable Victoria head duty mark. It measures approx 6 inches in diameter, 2.5 inches high and weighs an almighty 415 grams, which is over 13.3 troy ounces. I kid you not, this really is a superb and very valuable piece of military memorabilia Because of the value of this item I have included postage for special next day delivery, as this includes a basic insurance cover of £500, ordinary first class postage does not include any cover. However I would strongly recommend that the buyer sorts out proper insurance as this is still far from adequate. Alternatively and preferably the item can be collected in person. Good luck to all who bid. No reserve and all questions welcome.
