Earthquaker Devices DirtTransmitter The Dirt Transmitter Fuzz is a crazily versatile fuzz machine. It is a dual transistor fuzz box that has a bias control, which allows you to control the voltage being sent to the transistors. This is unusual and makes for an array of very usable fuzz tones. From gated Velcro / spitty fuzz to a smooth thick fuzzy snarl at either end of the knob. In the middle the tone is so warm and organic it will let your guitar tone shine through but will give it that fuzzy edge that is great for rhythm playing. With the fuzz knob rolled back you can get that small combo amp on 10 tone - think the Black Keys rhythm tone. For me the thing that makes this pedal stand out is the tone shaping knob which can stop you getting those ice picky highs or muddy non-cutting tones so many fuzz pedals are limited to. The pedal is true bypass and is ultra-quiet. This is the boutique fuzz pedal to acquire - incredibly versatile, for single coil or humbucker guitars, and able to clean up with your guitar's volume control – a mark of a great fuzz. So why am I selling it? Well I have a “small” fuzz addiction with over 30 fuzz pedals so some of them have to go.
