This is a large original watercolor painting of one of the East Broad Top Railroad's narrow gauge 2-8-2 locomotives shown at the coal dock at Orbisonia, Pennsylvania during one of their famous "Winter Spectacular" operations in the early 1970's. While the wintertime trains have ceased running, the train rides during warmer weather still survive and #14 is still active! The East Broad Top is the last surviving 3' narrow gauge railroad in the eastern United States and is a wonderful example of a working railroad museum! This painting was "copied" from a color slide, that I took years ago, by a pen-pal friend of mine. This beautiful painting deserves to be hung in a den or railroad room to delight the owner and visitors from time to time. The painting is unframed with an image of 18" x 27 1/2" in size. (The full size is 20" x 28", shown in the last photo.) It clearly shows every detail on the engine and surroundings. The true color of the painting is shown in the first three photos - the detail shots are with available room lighting. The painting is done on artists heavy paper and came to me rolled in a large tube. As I haven't had a large enough space to hang it, it has remained under cover, amd flat, for many years in a temporary metal frame. Tforth, it is clean without any fading of colors. I will send this painting rolled up in a large tube, or as you prefer, by insured Priority Mail. Check out my other railroad items, soon to be listed!
