Eastern Airline BIG E Logo Prototype Shot Glass with Airplane Icon at North, Compass Headings Labeled within LogoExtremely unique Eastern Airlines BIG E prototype strike item shot glass bearing the BIG E logo, with additional artwork that includes an airplane icon as the North directional arrow and S, E, and W compass direction labels. Oversized clear shot glass measures 2 7/8 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches wide across the top and 1 1/2 inches wide across the base.Based on information I have obtained through my own research and speaking with other collectors, it is my understanding that during the Eastern Airlines Strike, beginning in the late 1980s, a limited number of prototype items bearing the BIG E logo were prepared for possible use such as Pilot Wings, Flight Attendant Wings, Badges and various other items. However, due to the fact that Eastern Airlines was no longer in business by the time these prototypes were manufactured and ready to use, they were never placed in service or used on an Eastern Airlines flight. It is my understanding that this is one of the few prototype designs and would be a nice addition to any collection. There are three (3) available for purchase.Very minor wear due to moving and cleaning. Item is free from major scratches, nicks, cracks, breaks and repairs.
