WHAT A LOVELY MID 19th CENTURY LARGE SAUCE LADLE! IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a very good weight indeed and a really special piece of antique silver. Here we have a quite exceptional and heavy solid silver ladle of quite sensational gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear.Its round bowl is particularly deep. It is assayed in London and dated 1826 (year letter l) and has a maker's mark for very good flatware maker William Eaton-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 80. This is a lovely mid George IV lot and a must have. A really delightful and scarce piece! Their length is larger than normal at 7.25 inches. These lovely ladle is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of sturdy table silver. Pattern is KINGS DOUBLE STRUCK.This is a popular and highly sought after traditional pattern. Weight of actual silver is a staggering 121 grams (3.89 troy ounces),this piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is terrific and it is of superior quality and condition.The bowl is of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim.It is engraved with a rearing animal (possibly a whippet or greyhound) crest and always has been,definitely no erasures either. I have listed a very similar ladle to this-also by WE. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look.Including lots more KINGS! A truly beautiful,special and most wonderful lot. Would make a great present perhaps? Would be ideal for making up a canteen of this popular pattern.
