WHAT A LOVELY MID 19th CENTURY PAIR OF LARGE SAUCE LADLES! EACH IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a very good weight indeed and 2 really special pieces of antique silver. Here we have a quite exceptional and very heavy pair of solid silver ladles of quite sensational gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear.Their oval bowl is particularly deep. Each is assayed in London and dated 1845 (year letter l) and has a maker's mark for very good lady maker Elizabeth Eaton-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 53. This is a lovely early Victorian lot and a must have. A really delightful and scarce pair! Their length is larger than normal at 7.375 inches. These lovely ladles are of exceptional quality and each is a most delightful piece of sturdy table silver. Pattern is KINGS DOUBLE STRUCK.This is a popular and highly sought after traditional pattern. Weight of actual silver is a staggering 189 grams (6.08 troy ounces),each piece is made of very thick gauge silver throughout. The condition is terrific and each is of superior quality and condition.Each bowl is of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim.Each is engraved with a rearing animal (possibly a leopard or jaguar) crest and always has been,definitely no erasures either. I have listed very similar ladles to these-by William Eaton. Please note that i have listed many other good items of both modern and antique silver,please do have a look.Including lots more KINGS! A truly beautiful,special and most wonderful lot. Would make a great present perhaps? Would be ideal for making up a canteen of this popular pattern.
