Ebony Darning Egg on Silver Repousse Handle c.1900 This darner can be seen on pg. 107 of Darn It! The History and Romance of Darners. The wood egg is 2 1/2 in. long and about 2 in. wide. It bears the pin marks of having been used, but only around the sides, not on the top. The ornate sterling handle is 3 in. long and 3/4 in. wide. The handle is marked, Sterling, and has one tiny ding on the blank medallion. You can just bearly see it in photo #3. The book states it's CA 1900. Payments are required within 3 days after auction ends. I only accept PayPal. I do not accept ECheck. I use USPS as my main source for shipping. If an item is oversized or very heavy, UPS will be used. All items valued over $25 will have insurance included. PLEASE wait until I have sent you an invoice, not the one from Ebay. If an auction finishes over $25, the appropriate insurance needs to be added. A second transfer through Paypal becomes necessary, and none of us wants that. Thank you. Winning bidders will receive a confirmation email and/or invoice shortly after the auction has ended. Your successful bid is a commitment to purchase that item. If payment is not made within 3 days, and I have not received an email from you with an explanation, as suggested by Ebay, a non-payment bidding status is automatically filed by Ebay ~ this is a new procedure Ebay has implemented.
