EDDYSTONE EA12 HIGH STABILITY AMATEUR BANDS COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVER Well, on offer today we have a quite scarce and collectable valve communicatons receiver, the Eddystone EA12. This one has a quite tatty case and although the knobs and case are clean, the dial shows a lot of dust and cobwebs caught inside it which marrs it's appearance somewhat. The meter glass has the ubiquitous crack in it but the needle appears free and damped. Taking a look inside, it doesn't appear as though Mr Knobby Bodgewit and Sally Screwdriver have been to visit as no componentry has been changed and all screws appear to be in attendance excepting the four that should hold the tuning gang shield and likewise, the tuning gang shield is also missing. Similarly, all the wiring looks to be original and there is no evidence of overheating at the mains transformer and associated componentry. Unfortunately, I do not have a socket to allow me to apply mains - annoying as I sold one here on EBAY last week - typical! As you can see, I have included many detailed photographs to enable you to gauge the originality of this receiver and allow you to consider what a bit of elbow grease, sensitive component replacement and powder coating could do to make a very nice receiver from a promising restoration basis.
