EDIE HARPER "LITTLE DAVID" SIGNED PRINT 264 OF 750, FRAMED IN SILVER WITH TRIPLE MATTHE FRAME HAS A FEW DENTS , IT IS ABOUT 17 BY 18-THE PRINT, INSIDE THE MAT MEASURES ABOUT 12 1/2 BY 13 1/2EDIE HARPER, WAS A MID- 20TH CENTURY ARTIST, WHO GREW UP AND STUDIED IN CINCINNATI. HER STYLE ,LIKE HER HUSBAND'S, CHARLEY HARPER WAS GEOMETRIC.IN THE LATE 1960'S SHE TOOK AN INTEREST IN VISUALIZING BIBLE STORIES IN THE SAME GEOMETRIC STYLE.SHE BECAME WELL KNOWN FOR HER ABILITY TO REPRESENT THE STORIES IN A SIMPLE FASHION. She passed on this year in January. Edie Harper: In Memoriam Edith Riley McKee was an only child born in 1922 in Kansas City, Kansas. A dreamy child, she moved with her parents to Liberty, Missouri, when her father chose to open a short-order restaurant. On trips to see relatives on their farms and small ranches in the Sand Hills of Nebraska, she developed a lifelong love for animals and the vast, lonely expanses of the Middle West. The family moved again, to Cincinnati, in the 1930s when Edie’s father landed a position with Procter & Gamble. They lived in an apartment on Springfield Pike while Edie attended Wyoming High School (graduating in 1939), all the while creating art at a level beyond her actual years.
