Edison Dynamo is an unique opportunity to buy a fully working model of Edison's first dynamo, developed in the year 1879. Because of the long magnets it was called "Long-Legged Mary-Ann". This model is 17 inch high. The Base is 11 x 7,2 inch. It is built with great care by a professional instrumentmaker, following the original discription from old books and prints. The fieldmagnets and the armature are wound with double cotton covered copperwire, impregnated in schellack and covered with isolation compound. The polepieces are machined from cast-iron as are the bearingblocks and the pully. The fieldmagnets are fixed on a cast zinc plate in the same manner as it was done on the original machines. This extraordinary model runs as a motor on 6 volts and if driven at about 3000 rpm it generates about 12 volts - 5 Amps. The weight is a considerable 20 kilograms so the transport will not be cheap: 200 dollars. The reserve price is resonable considering the amount of work wich is put into this model.
