Offering a very early Edison Home Phonograph. This is not your typical Edison Cylinder Phonograph. It is a more scarce machine (although they do turn up). It has a rare original Brass Horn and a recorder. They both appear to be original, however, I am not an expert and you have to be the ultimate judge of that. The latest patent date on the patent plate is 1898 and the serial number is H3488 (matches in several places on the phonograph). It has the Edison Home Phonograph Banner Decal on the Lid which is red and gold and in very good condition (see photographs). T is a model C reproducer and an original Edison recorder. The recorder appears to be in good shape and functional. However, it may have been rebuilt at some time as these parts usually are (again, I can only describe as I see it). The flange on it reads recorder, and it has engraved "Licensed use only on Edison Phonographs Sold by National Phono Co." The throat on it appears to be copper. The brass horn 15" long and is in good shape and does not have any damage or repairs. It appears to have been polished at some point with some very minor pitting. The mechanism works well but could probably use some greasing and minor tune up work. Buyer to pay actual shipping costs using USPS Priority mail. I will pack it very well with required insurance. If any damage occurs during shipping, a refund will be issued when reimbursement occurs. Great opportunity to own a piece of history from the inventor of phonographs! This is a short dated sale so bid early and often so you won't forget to bid. All questions are welcome. I will tell you what I know. I obtained this phonograph in northern Connecticut near the Massachusetts border (was not cheap!).
