Original hand tinted photograph by Edithe Beutler entitled "Cup of Gold" mounted on cream colored matt board and signed and titled in pencil under photo. Seems to be the original bamboo like frame, 14 1/2" x 17 1/2" photo itself is 9 1/2" x 7 1/2", in excellent condition. The colors in this photo are striking. The back is covered in vintage 1940's floral wallpaper (very pretty).Born in California in 1893. Edith was the wife of artist Albert Beutler. In 1944 along with Frank Warren she illustrated the book, Trees and Flowers of the Hawaiian Islands. Original photographs by Edithe Beutler are rarely offered. This would make a striking addition to any Hawaiiana or photo collection.
