Watercolour landscape by Edmund Morison Wimperis VPRL (1835-1900), plus a second on the back of the paper; both Monogrammed. For examples of his work on the BBC Your Painting Website, please The painting is in good condition with a couple of very minor foxing spots. There is writing verso detailing the work was purchased at Artist’s sale, Christies, 1901. The Front painting has been mounted, and then another sheet of thinner card has been applied to the back with glue. Prior to this an opening was cut out so the image of a second smaller landscape painting could still be viewed. There is very slight shape to the paper and the painting on the back also has a few small foxing spot visible. Front painting measures 24cm x 15.5cm, monogrammed lower left. The area of painting visible on the back measures 8.3cm x 16cm, monogrammed lower left. Total mount board (with some colour from age) measures 39cm x 31.5cm. Sold unframed.
