Offered is a vintage hammered silver Hardi d’Argent of Edward the Black Prince. Some light encrustation in the lettering on the obverse of the coin. There is also a piece of flan missing at 4 o'clock, otherwise a nice coin. The front of the coin shows Edward holding a sword. The obverse shows a long cross with two fleur de lis and two leopards. Edward was son of Edward III of England and spent much of his time in France, fighting during the Hundred Year's War. His most famous victory was at Poitiers, where he captured Jean le Bon, king of France, who was held capitve in London until ransomed. I am listing this coin as "sold as is" because I'm not an expert on the matter. I am selling this on behalf of a third party who is weeding out his collection.
