This item and other pieces of jewellery listed in my shop are all set with genuine natural opals, which are not doublets/triplets or treated in any way. I purchase these stones directly from the mines, cut them from the rough and incorporate them in antique and vintage gold settings or polish larger opals for sterling silver pendants.Opal is a relatively soft stone and most used jewellery is likely to be scratched or dulled with use. I guarantee that all of my stones are genuine newly cut natural opals and the settings have been sonically cleaned and polished to be in pristine condition. This is a quality stone, which has a cream/white background colour with pastel flashes of green/red/yellow and blue across its entire surface. It is 14mm by 10mm and of approx. 4.00 carats. The gold shank is stamped "9ct" for 9 carat gold and looks to date to Circa.1900 or thereabouts. It has been polished/sonically cleaned and is in excellent overall condition.
