An Edwardian White Metal, Paste Diamond and Sapphire Bug/Spider Brooch, dating to around 1900-1910. I have not had this Brooch tested, so I do not know if the Stones are real or not so I have listed them as Crystal, and likewise with the metal, I do not know if this is Silver with a Gold plate or not. It was not unusual to have jewellery from this era not Hallmarked, particularly if it was foreign made. Made as a Bar Brooch with the Spider set into the centre, it has an oval faceted Crystal/Sapphire as it's body, and two old cut Crystals/Diamonds as it's eyes. At each end of the bar is an old cut faceted Diamond in a Diamond shape setting. The bar is made of White metal and has then been gilded. The Brooch still retains it's original pin and clasp. Each Diamond measures approximately 1 mm in diameter, and the Sapphire measures approximately 9 mm. The Brooch measures 6 cm, 2.25 inches in length. The Brooch does have slight wear on the plating, which is not at all noticeable when it is worn, otherwise, it is in an excellent condition. A very pretty and stylish Brooch. Ideal as a gift, I will send this in a box, so it would be ideal as a Christmas present. All of my items start at 99p with no reserve, regardless of the value of each item. I will always combine the postage on two or more items bought from me within seven days. I only read more
