This is an Effanbee hard vinyl 15" Suzette produced in the late fifties. She is all original and is pictured in the Effanbee Patricia R. Smith's book "Effanbee-dolls that touch your heart" on page 156, showing the catalog page from the year 1959 with this doll. The doll is listed as "Suzette-15" girl doll, all vinyl, jointed with tiltable head, moving eyes and rooted saran hair that can be combed, washed and set." She wears outfit style #911 described as "Dressed in a short striped cotton dress with embroidered organdy trim and matching bandeau in hair. Slip, panties, patent shoes and socks." This is exactly how the doll is dressed, all pieces mentioned and as described. The only difference I can see, is the dress has cotton embroidered trim, not organdy. She is absolutely sweet and a hard to find doll. She shows little wear, outfit was laundred, hair could use a little primping and the left shoe has slight turning up in the front. Her coloring is great, eyelashes are full and no missing fingers or toes. She has a very faint light, light grayish spot on right cheek, hair on right side may be a tad bit thinner than left side and very teeny scratch below right nostril-all of these are very minor, but need to mention. Suzette has no bad odors, no stains tears or damage to the dress, slip, undies, shoes and socks. Please email with questions. read more
