I inherited a few things from my grandparent's including a few pieces from their travels around the world. I'm not a collector or expert of any sort, but from my research I believe this is an ancient faience winger scarab amulet that was usually placed as part of the mummy's wrappings or maybe as an attachment to a decorative necklace. It is in great shape, no large cracks or pieces chipped off. I tried to take the best pictures I could of it and it deserves to be in a collection somewhere. I don't know very much more about it that I've said. It's definitely not been in circulation, displayed, photographed, etc. etc. etc. in well over 50 years which is roughly when my grandparents acquired it. I know it sat in their curio cabinet the whole time I've been alive and never left and that was 47 years ago. I have a few other pieces from Africa, the Far East, and another Egyptian piece as well but I haven't made the decision to part with most of it yet.
Thanks for looking, and good luck :) Dimensions: The center scarab is roughly 2 3/4" long by 1 3/4" wide. With the wings it spans well over 6 inches from wingtip to wingtip ; I've placed a ruler next to it in most of the pictures for comparison's sake. Fine print: I accept only verified Paypal account holder payments, and will ship only to the verified address on the Paypal account. I will ship it FREE overnight expedited delivery the day after payment clears to U.S. domestic addresses, and for international buyers I will also send it FREE via an expedited carrier of my choosing. Lastly, I am not an expert so please ask what you will beforehand and I will do my best to answer it.
