What a fabulous Vintage piece this is!! Egyptian Revival beetle pendant, in 14K yellow gold. The 14K chain is a small double link style with a spring ring clasp, and measures 16 1/2"L . The pendant measures 2 3/16"L x 11/16"w x 1/4"d and weighs 4.2grs. The favrile glass beetle, as you will see in the photos, is beautifully done with exquisite life-like details. The irridescent shades of deep blue,purple and green can be seen throughout the piece, and changes colors as the light moves over it. This is prong set on a 14K yellow gold solid backing and dangles from a free-form design also in gold. This was a piece originally made by "Tiffany & Co." A piece identical to this, only it was a stickpin in 18K Y/G , was sold at Skinners Auction in 2002 for $2,700.00 dollars and is from the 1840's to 1860's. At the time Tiffany was the only company to do Favrile Glass pieces. What a georgous one-of-a-kind piece this is and Gentlemen! if your lady loves something unusual and rare??
