Egyptian Faience Glazed Ushabti TYPE : Egyptian Funery Figure CULTURE : Egyptian DATE : 1085 B.C - 332 B.C MATERIAL : Egyptian Faience DIMENSIONS : 9.4 cm x 3.0 cm CONDITION: Fully intact. Description: On auction is a Third Intermediate Period faience Ushabti. The figure is seen wearing a well defined wig with a painted “seshed” headband, and holds a molded and painted hoe or flail in each hand. The front of the legs feature a single column of painted hieroglyphs, while on the back there is a representation of a large seed bag. In the traditional mummiform pose, the piece has a pale olive colour with the detailing underglazed in brown/black. Arms crossed carrying pick and hoe with seed basket over his left shoulder.
