Interesting 8 day Longcase for restoration. This is a 'dog' of a Longcase but has a very interesting movement The stained pine case is obviously later and is somewhat design and height challenged. The 14",(again unusual), wide brass engraved dial, with subsidiary seconds dial. It also has the very rare feature of both a date and month dial.( before you ask, both seem to work, but don't hold me to it!). The case as I said is, being kind, is dubious at best, but it might suit you. The pendulum has a very strange, obviously amateur, yet ingenious, feather spring plastic replacement, but a £5 note will sort that. The movement is filthy dirty and obviously sprayed with oil to keep it going, yet seems all there, as are the weights. All in all, a good Winter project or leave as is!
