NO RESERVE !!! Fresh from a Central Maine home, we are pleased to offer this IMMACULATE and INTERE STING Cabinet Photo by the legendary Circus photographer CHARLES EISENMANN . The photo is of four BARNUM & BAILEY circus giants in complete MILITARY costume including their Eagle Plated Military Shakos. They are known as the Texas Giants ! The Four Shields Brothers of White Rock, Texas , stood between seven feet eight inches to just under eight feet tall when they joined a Barnum & Bailey sideshow around 1880. It is said that Shade, Guss, Frank, and Jack Shields each made about six dollars a day with Barnum & Bailey, known as "The Texas Giants". Three of the brothers returned to Texas after 10 years, but Shade pounded the roads into the 1890s. At one point, he and his, Irish wife, Annie, a very tall woman as well, were billed as "The Texas Giant and Giantess". Eisenmann, the legendary Circus photographer was located in the Bowery section of New York. Many of his photographs have accurately documented the Circus trade, especially the Barnum & Bailey Company. CONDITION: SUPERB THROUGHOUT. CRISP & CLEAR!
