EK Commando Knife Co. Desert Patrol series 5. Bowie knife. Pristine condition. Blade is 6 1/2". Handle is 5 1/2". On one side (right) is embossed "Operation Desert Shield"(Pic 3). On the other side (left) is embossed "Korea, World War II, Vietnam, Commando" with the EK logo and 1941 Co. established date (From EK website "Lower banner etched "Commando": 1982-1991". Pic 2 ) So, this knife pre-dates the Gulf War initiative. Newer models include Iraq and Afghanistan on the handle. Knife has never been worn or used and never sharpened thus the "new" designation. No box is included. The handle is desert camo para-cord wrapped with the same cord for a wrist tether. (12" loop) Sheath has desert camo para-cord wrapped around it which I believe could be removed and used as a leg tie cord. Sheath para-cord has never been unwrapped from the sheath. Knife is made from one piece of steel so no pins or welding etc. Blade is non-reflective flat finish. Bead blasting I believe is the method used to obtain this finish. Not many of these out there commemorating "Operation Desert Shield" and our brave military that defend our country to this day .
