This is an original H.G. Long sleeve dagger, made about twelve years ago. As you know, H.G. Long made this type of sleeve dagger for the U.S. OSS and the British SOE during World War II. The knives were imported and finished by John Ek in the United States . This knife is made of one piece of steel and measures just over 7" long, with a blade that is 3-1/2". The handle is etched with their logo: crossed daggers in a shield, and: "H.G. Long & Co./ Est. 1847/ Sheffield England ". The blade is triangular, with three blood grooves. The groove at the end of the handle is for you to put a loop to grab the knife quickly and easily. The sheath is known as an "X" sheath, because of the way the strap loops through the slots and around your arm. Mike Stewart, Past President of Blackjack/ Ek examined this knife and told us that it was one that was finished , while he was President. Original sheath, made in England . Both knife and sheath are in factory new condition, never sharpened or used. No reserve.
