This is an original copy of the 1945 publication entitled, "Elco PTs in Action: The Story of the US Navy's Motor Torpedo Boats." It is hard-to-find because the only way to obtain it back then was by ordering it through "Yachting" magazine. It is a black and white magazine-type publication that was published by the Electric Boat Company, Bayonne, New Jersey. T are six color pictures including color pictures on both inside and outside flaps. It measures 12 ¾ inches high and nearly 10 inches wide. The 64 pages contain a number of original articles and articles previously published in "Yachting" magazine. It is chock full of photos of Elco PTs and the men who served on them during World War II. Plus t are great Elco ads and ads from its suppliers also showing Elco boats. T's plenty to read and plenty of photos to look at. Articles include: The Development of the PT Squadron "X" The PT's Box Score The PT's Air Arm North of Latitude 49 Degrees PTs in the Pacific A PT Roll of Honor for Gallantry in Action (listing men who received medals/honors as of March 1944) The Story Behind "the Expendables" The PT's Teeth PT - "Plenty Tough" W they Learn to be Tough Insignia of the PT Squadrons Elco - Geared Again to War "Green Dragons" of New Guinea Milestons in Elco History Victory will Bring Them Back This publication has been stored in clean surroundings for over 60 years, so t are no musty odors. I would rate the overall condition to be good + to very good. T are some marks and creases on the cover and some scuffing along the spine as can be seen in the photos. The publication is complete and clean inside and the binding is tight. This is really a very special publication and it would make an excellent addition to a collection.
