VINTAGE PEPSI-COLA COOLER
This cooler was originally purchased at an Auction in Shipshewana, IN. The previous owner had it sitting outside his store for a long time, but before that I have no more information.
IDEAL 55 Pepsi Mode l
Acomplete Ideal 55 Pepsi model would also have a change collector on the left hand side as well as the sliding mechanism on the upper level. These are not present but easy to find. If you reference the pictures I have posted you can see that t is a schematic behind the 7UP adverts on the lid. That is of the sliding rack. Both the sliding rack and the coin changer are missing. However this just means that you can grab a coke/beer/water whenever you want!!
Apparently the really rare white Ideal 55 7UP model goes for around $2000.00. Keep your eyes peeled!
When I purchased the cooler the original paint had been coated over with a white and light blue latex paint. I removed that layer and restored the paint to it's original deep blue color. I also replaced the plug which had degraded and was no longer safe to use. However, everything else is ORIGINAL AND WORKING, from the cooling compressor to the raised PEPSI-COLA lettering on the front. T are also a few 7UP advertisements on the inside of the lid. This cooler has two doors which I have tried to show in the pictures. The main door is the one that opens upwards, or the "Lid". The second is on the right side when facing the cooler. It opens into the same compartment as the lid AND a second compartment lower down for a deeper freeze I suppose.
